This first group is a series of fourteen "double portraits". I transfered images of each individual onto duralar using wintergreen oil and a process called photo-transfer. These expressive portraits are then veiled with tracing paper. On the tracing paper is a second portrait, a mugshot, done in pen and ink.
Almost all of these next drawings are done from observation and are either charcoal or graphite.
These are a few paintings I did during my first two years at MICA. I originally started out as a painting major however, after taking a few classes I realized I am much more inclined to work with dry media. Although I have since switched to drawing, I still plan to paint occasionally.
